From Kilometers to Kindness: How Bike4Kids Changes Lives

Updated: Nov 24

Quick Action, Lasting Impact – The Emergency Support Program by TCDF

Not every child needs long-term support to change their life. Sometimes, a single surgery or a few months of therapy is enough to make a world of difference. But there are also children who unexpectedly find themselves in crisis situations. For these cases, TCDF's Emergency Support Program provides immediate, life-saving aid.

A striking example of this is the help given to the stateless Moken children, stranded on an island without access to clean water. Thanks to rapid donations, TCDF was able to take immediate action, ensuring these children had access to fresh, clean water. At the same time, a project for a long-term solution was set in motion.

Over the past year, this program has supported 636 children in need. Thanks to these quick interventions, they receive the help they need, exactly when they need it most.

We aim to expand the Bike4Kids network.

Cycling: Good for You and for Kids in Need

Cycling: Good for You and for Kids in Need

We all ride a bike from time to time, whether it's for a quick grocery run or just to escape the daily grind. But have you ever thought about how cycling is not only good for you, but also for the world? And yes, you can even help children in need by cycling. How? Read on.

Good for Your Body (and Mind)

Let's be honest: exercising can sometimes feel like a chore. But cycling? That's different. It keeps you fit and helps clear your mind. After a long day, there's nothing better than feeling the fresh wind through your hair. I traded the gym for my bike, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. What started with sore muscles and gasping at every corner quickly became a routine I can't live without. The sense of accomplishment after tackling a hill is priceless!

Good for the Environment

Cycling isn’t just good for you, it’s also great for the planet. No emissions, no traffic jams, no honking. And let's be honest, what’s better: being stuck in traffic or peacefully riding through nature? If we all chose to cycle more often, our cities would be cleaner and quieter. A small step with a big impact – even for future generations.

Cycling for a Good Cause

And here’s the best part: you can help children by cycling. Bike4Kids organizes a cycling event to raise money for underprivileged children in Thailand. By participating, you’re contributing to a brighter future for these kids. Follow Dries and Herman’s adventure through their weekly blogs, join the network, share their stories, and make a difference with us.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your bike, enjoy the ride, support our cause, and help the world – and children – move forward!

Preparation and Sponsorship: Mile by Mile Towards a Better Future

With just five weeks left before we leave for Hanoi, we’ve already completed 7,200 training kilometers. Donate now, €5 per kilometer, and directly contribute to a better future for children in Thailand. Next week, we’ll write about the “Virtual Start of Our Bike Journey on the Day of the TCDF’s Dutch Anniversary.”

We kindly ask you to share this blog with your neighbours, acquaintances, friends, and family. We want to grow our network as much as possible.

Thank You

Thank you for following our adventure in Asia. Want to help make a difference for underprivileged Thai children? Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal.
